How to use Audi Green touch-up paint? (FAQ)

Audi Green touch-up paint is simple and easy to use regardless of whether you use it as a touch-up paint pen, bottle and brush, or car spray paint. Follow the guidance below for the correct use of each.

Using the touch-up paint pen

Our touch-up paint pen is easy to use, and can be used to repair a scratch or scuff in six simple steps:

Ensure the paintwork is clean and dry, then wipe it with a microfibre cloth.
Shake the touch-up pen for 60 seconds to mix the paint properly.
Carefully squeeze the pen over the repair area and apply the first layer of paint.
If additional coats are needed, wait 10-25 minutes between applications.
Allow the final coat to dry for 24 hours.
If required, blend in the touch-up repair with a polishing compound like PaintNuts Scratch & Scuff Remover or lacquer.

Using the touch-up bottle & brush

The PaintNuts touch-up bottle and brush is perfect for repairing paintwork chips. With 50ml of re Audi touch-up paint, it provides enough for multiple applications. Follow these steps:

Ensure the paintwork is clean and dry, then wipe it with a microfibre cloth to remove any dust or fine particles that could affect the repair.
Shake the touch-up bottle for 2-3 minutes to mix the paint thoroughly.
Test the colour match by applying a small amount to a discreet surface before painting your car.
If you’re happy with the colour match, apply the first touch-up paint layer to the damaged area. If multiple coats are required, wait 10-25 minutes between applications.
After applying the final coat, allow the paint to cure for one hour.
Blend the repair using PaintNuts Scratch and Scuff Remover, or add lacquer. This step is optional.

Using the touch-up aerosol

The PaintNuts touch-up aerosol comes in a 500ml can, making it ideal for repairing minor scratches, scuffs, and chips. Follow these steps for a professional-quality finish:

Check the damaged area for rough areas and smooth them with wet and dry sandpaper. If you spot metal or rust, apply PaintNuts primer aerosol first, and wait 24 hours before using touch-up paint.
Wipe the damaged area so it’s clean and dry and shake the aerosol for 2 minutes to mix the paint thoroughly.
Spray the paint in smooth, cross coat motions, holding the can 250mm from the damaged area. Allow 15 minutes between coats if more than one coat is needed.
When finished, spray the nozzle upside down to clean it, and let the repair harden for 24 hours.
Optional: blend in the repair with polishing compound like PaintNuts Scratch and Scuff Remover or lacquer.
